Philosophers for Humanity was founded in 2023 with the intention of transforming philosophical thought into pragmatic action. To begin each year, our members vote for a charity which we dedicate the school year to raising money for. Through the act of fundraising, Philosophers for Humanity aims to promote philosophical ideals such as community, equality, and charity in the University of Toronto community and beyond.
Alongside our fundraising efforts, we also host a myriad of events to promote philosophical discussion on campus. Although our club emphasizes the study of philosophy, we encourage students of all disciplines to become members or attend our events!

Absolutely! We encourage all students, whether they’re in the humanities or STEM, to participate in our club. No prior philosophy knowledge is required to engage in our events!

Executives are chosen each year by the Philosophers for Humanity team after a brief selection process. When executive applications open, it will be announced on our Instagram.
Yes! You can donate at any time via e-transfer to philosophersforhumanity@outlook.com . 100% of donations go to our annual charity.
Each September, all registered members vote for a charity to support for the academic school year. This year, “WoodGreen Community Services” was selected as the annual charity.
